This week I celebrated my birthday surrounded by some of my favorite people. We went out to a little Japanese restaurant I love, the kind of place that is always a little too loud where the laughter rolls just as fast as the sushi.
We talked, we laughed, and yes, we ate way too much. By the end of the night, I came home with leftovers and a full heart.
It hit me that these are the moments that sneak into my stories. The inside jokes, the shared looks, the comfort of people who have seen you through every version of yourself. That is what I love about writing Midlife fiction. It is not just about second chances and romance. It is about the connections that make life rich.
So if you have friends or family who keep your heart full (and maybe your fridge full of leftovers), take a moment this week to appreciate them. Those are the real love stories.
All the best,
Tia
