This week was a little more stressful than I would have liked.
Halo managed to get some dirt stuck up her nose (because apparently sniffing everything is part of her daily job description), so off to the vet we went to have it flushed out.
The procedure itself went well, but she didn’t react well to the sedation. It took her several days to recover, and seeing a normally energetic cat suddenly so quiet was enough to make all of us worry.
Thankfully, she’s doing great now.
She’s back to sprinting through the house at top speed, supervising the neighborhood from the front window, and attempting to convince the local birds that they’re part of her entertainment schedule.
I hadn’t realized how much everyone notices her until several of the neighbors asked where she’d been. Apparently Halo has become a regular part of their daily walks too. They were just as happy to see her back outside making her rounds as we were.
It was a good reminder that anesthesia is no small thing for our furry family members, even during a routine procedure. We’re incredibly grateful everything turned out well.
Now, if we could just convince Halo that dirt belongs on the ground and not up her nose, that would be wonderful.
She’s certainly acting like nothing ever happened… and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
