I’m too young for this…

I’m a grandma.

I keep saying it, partly because I’m excited and partly because my brain still hasn’t caught up.

It seems like yesterday my own kids were little. I was stepping over toys, searching for missing shoes and answering approximately four thousand questions before breakfast.

Now one of those children has a child of their own.

How did that happen?

There’s something strange about holding your grandchild and seeing pieces of your own child in their tiny face. Suddenly, all those years come rushing back. The sleepless nights. The first steps. The school concerts. The teenage years we all somehow survived.

It went by so quickly.

When my kids were small, people constantly told me to enjoy it because it wouldn’t last. At the time, the days didn’t always feel fast. Some of them felt approximately six weeks long.

But they were right.

One minute, you’re holding your baby. The next, you’re watching them hold theirs.

I’m still getting used to the idea that I’m somebody’s grandma, but I already know this little baby is going to be loved, spoiled and probably handed back to their parents the moment a diaper needs changing.

That’s one of the benefits of being Grandma, right?

This is a brand-new chapter for our family, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where it takes us.

Although I’m still not entirely sure how I got old enough for this to happen.

Have you ever seen anything cuter?

All the best,

Tia
