I have decided there is one thing my cat is much better at than me.
Sleeping.
Not just sleeping. Sleeping anywhere, in any position, and somehow looking ridiculously comfortable while doing it.
Halo can be twisted sideways, one leg hanging off the couch, her head bent at an angle that would send me straight to a chiropractor, and she is completely relaxed.
Meanwhile, if my pillow is slightly wrong, I wake up feeling like I’ve been hit by a truck.
How is that fair?
She’ll sleep half upside down, curled into a space that is clearly too small for her, or stretched across the bed like she pays the mortgage.
And she always looks peaceful.
I try to sleep like that and something goes numb.
I’m starting to think cats have secretly mastered some kind of advanced sleep technique the rest of us were never taught.
Either that, or Halo is simply showing off.
Honestly, I’m jealous.
I would like one night of cat-level sleep.
Preferably without having to fold myself into a pretzel first.
